Well here we are ending another day of work and website investigation. Maybe I should mention that having been an embedded firmware engineer since about 1980 (makes me feel old), the concepts of very high level languages and associated development environments are slightly alien to me. I have to date always got down to and developed/understood the nuts and bolts of a system – the how and why it works rather than the “don’t ask, just do it” approach. So, working with WordPress is, shall we say, different for me. I have tried several already existing themes but one thing I find is they all seem to restrict customisation. Does this I wonder mean I have to start from scratch and create my own? Maybe.
On a different note, maybe I should introduce the fact I also have the honour of being assistant curator at an interesting little museum called “The Caboolture Warplane And Aviation Heritage Museum”. We are only small but we do have a few active aircraft including a P51 Mustang, an SNJ, a Gipsy Moth and soon a Winjeel and then possibly a C47 to be restored. These aircraft are active and flights can be organised etc etc. Hey, I sound like an advert. Anyway, we have a small group of volunteers who together can create a lot of politics – wonder how long before I delete that bit.
